Celebrating Motherhood

I am so excited to announce my Celebrating Motherhood: Mama & Me Petite Portrait Session charity event happening throughout the month of May and benefiting The CURED Foundation.

The CURED Foundation was founded by Ellyn and Fred Kodroff following their daughter’s diagnosis with an eosinophilic disease back in 2003.  Since then the CURED Foundation has raised more than 4.5 million dollars for research and has built a framework to offer support and information to families, including mine, who find themselves suddenly navigating the road of dealing with a chronic, rare, eosinophilic gastro-intestinal disease (EGID).

While Mother’s day makes May the perfect month to celebrate motherhood, it also happens to be rare disease awareness month.  Plus the eosinophilic awareness week always falls in May (May 19^th-25^th this year).  I started dreaming up an event a year ago that could raise money and awareness for EGIDs while capturing and creating beautiful artwork showcasing mamas and their kids, and I am bursting with joy as it all comes together this year.
